The largest contemporary gallery in Austin celebrates 10 years!
AUSTIN, Texas — ART on 5th, the largest contemporary art gallery in Austin, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in April with its second sale ever. Now is the perfect time for Austin to experience the many local and national artists ART on 5th has to offer, as all framed artwork is on sale, with discounts on our distinctive custom framing available as well.
ART on 5th sprung onto the Austin art scene in 1998 after owner Joe Sigel realized the need for a contemporary art gallery in a city already so well known for its dedication to the arts. The gallery is very museum like, very large, with lots of places to sit and take in the experience. In a business where the average life span is less than two years, ART on 5th has made its mark with blockbuster shows featuring the artwork of Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Peter Max, and Andy Warhol. The gallery is also very proud to host the largest collection of Dr. Seuss art in the country, as well as promote several of Austin’s most talented local artists. In addition to featuring ongoing exhibits of the gallery’s stable of over 40 artists, ART on 5th welcomes touring exhibitions from Washington, Chicago, and Montreal, and has become well known for its exhibit of original vintage posters several times a year.
Multiple time winner of the Austin Chronicle’s “Best Gallery” award, Austinites and visitors alike continue to applaud the colorful and eclectic gathering of local, Texas, national and international artists on display.
